When people start to consider opening their own business, they often times think of franchising. The hard work of building a business from the ground up has already been done, and the success of the business idea has already been proven. Any problems that cropped up in the initial few years have had time to be ironed out. All that’s left is a solid business plan of best practices. Let’s also not forget that franchising has a whole system of support for newcomers.
When you’re looking for a franchise that meets your needs, you want to make sure you’re a good match for each other. Start thinking about what’s important to you as a potential business owner. Compare your personal goals and values to those of the franchise. As a professional, what sort of standards to you want to uphold? What sort of values do you want to align yourself with? You might want to try writing your own mission statement, based on your personal thoughts and feelings on how a business should be run. You can even list out all the attributes you would want in a potential franchise.
When you do your research, you can compare your notes to the brands you are considering. That way, you can be sure you’re making a good choice. If your goals and values don’t align, you will undoubtedly face many challenges when working within a particular franchise system.

We don’t just talk the talk, we walk the walk. We live by our values every day. We believe that everyone member of our team, from the franchise owners, to the corporate employees at home office, to the movers and drivers, to the customer service representatives, should be dedicated to fulfilling our goal of “Moving People Forward.”
One example of “Giving back to the community” is our partnership with The Mikey Network, through our Mikey On Board program. The Mikey Network is dedicated to promoting heart healthy living, and provides automatic external defibrillators, aka Mikeys, to high risk public places. To help support that mission, all of our moving trucks have Mikeys on board, and our movers and drivers are trained to use them. Whenever you see a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® moving truck, you’ll know help is close at hand. In this way, we are helping give people a second chance at life.
