TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo went the distance last week to deliver excellent customer service, just in time for Christmas.
Justin Prittie, owner and general manager of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® KCW went to school with the customer’s son. It was because of because of this relationship that they asked Justin and his crew if they could do a short notice move from Killbride to Chalet Mont Saint Anne, just north of Quebec City, to deliver furniture, skis, and other items to their brand new ski chalet. This was definitely a “drop everything and get it done ASAP” kind of move!
There were a number of fragile and delicate items to be transported. Justin and his team had to ensure everything was padded, stretch-wrapped and secured for the 1,000 kilometre trip. The large stainless steel fridge and 8-foot couch were too large to move through the front door and up the circular staircase. Undeterred, Justin made arrangements for a builder’s lift to be used. They placed those items on the second floor balcony, to be taken in via the over-sized patio doors. This unique moving method really wowed the customer.
The crew spent three hours loading the truck on Thursday night, then left at 5 a.m. on Friday morning. They got to the chalet at 7pm that night. The offloading took place Saturday morning, then the crew got back in the truck and arrived home at 10 p.m. Saturday night. A full weekend, to say the least!
It was a long road trip with a small window of opportunity, but it was done in record time to meet the needs of another satisfied TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® customer. They will be settled in and ready for Christmas!
