The Canadian Franchise Association has launched a #FranchiseAwareness campaign to educate the public on the franchise business model and its positive impact on the lives of Canadians. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Canada is taking part in this campaign by sharing franchisee success stories.
Today we’re talking with Kari Campbell from TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Oshawa, who started as a Customer Service Representative (CSR) and is now a Partner. We’ve asked Kari to tell us a little bit about herself and her experience with the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Canada franchise. Here’s what she had to say:
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?
I grew up in Campbellcroft, a small town south of Port Hope, On. After moving around to a few different towns, I settled in Peterborough, for about 15 years. After travelling back and forth to work in Oshawa, I finally moved to Bowmanville.
Q: How long have you been with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®?
I started as a Customer Service Representative in 2007, now on my 9th year. After 3 years, I became a partner at the Oshawa Franchise.
Q: What made you choose TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®?
Friends were opening the Franchise and asked if I would be interested in becoming their CSR. I was currently working as a CSR at Masterbrand Cabinets. After looking into what TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Canada offered, I thought it would be a great fit for me.
Q: What are your usual day-to-day tasks at the office?
Operations is my main focus, as well as keeping good relationships with local businesses ie: real estate agents, builders etc.
This time of year focusing on getting Drivers and movers hired for the busy season.
Q: What career experiences in your past helped you when you joined TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®?
Working as a Customer Service Rep in the past certainly helped when I joined TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Canada. Just like our mission says, we need to continuously strive to exceed our Customer’s expectations.
Q: What is your favorite TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Core Value and why?
My favourite Core Value is Give Back To The Community. We work closely with a local Women’s Shelter, doing a Christmas Toy and Food Drive. We also work with Keller Williams Realty doing a Turkey Drive every year as well as Red Day. Last year we cleaned up, painted, did some landscaping and had a car wash to raise money for the Big Brothers and Big sisters in Bowmanville. I think it is important to give back where you work and live.
Q: What are your interests or hobbies?
My hobbies include playing baseball, camping, and spending time with Family and Friends.
Q: Name one goal you hope to accomplish this year.
My goal is to keep growing the business year over year, and to be the number one mover of choice in the Durham Region.
