High Five Friday: Lyne Vincent From Ottawa, ON

October 4, 2019 By A Very Moving Blog

This High Five Friday we’re going to do some a little different and recognize one of our franchisees who has a passion for giving back to her community. Today we send out our high five to Lyne Vincent, from Ottawa, Ontario!

Under the leadership of Lyne and her husband Paul, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Ottawa supports a number of charitable organizations and initiatives throughout the year.

Supporting worthy causes like the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, The Ride, which supports cancer research and the Ottawa Hospital, the annual Toy Mountain drive to collect toys for children at the holidays, The Shoebox Project Ottawa, which helps women impacted by homeless in Ottawa, Lyne truly embodies our Core Value: Care.

Lyne and her Ottawa move team don’t just give a bit of money at the holidays. They devote time, energy, and yes, money, to worthy charitable efforts that help improve their local Ottawa community throughout the year.

The Ottawa Hospital’s Ride for Research, also known simply as The Ride, is a 109 km bike ride that raises funds for cancer research at the Ottawa Hospital.

Lyne has raised funds and completed The Ride for the past 6 years. After cycling the 109 km at this year’s 10th edition of THE RIDE on September 8, 2019, Lyne Vincent gave her last pedal strokes at the Tunney’s Pasture finish line. Her family was there to greet and congratulate her, and she had something to be very proud of!

Thanks to Lyne’s generous donors, she raised an astounding amount of $10,061, finishing in the top ten individual fundraisers of the event and earning a Peloton Club Achievement.

With more than $41,500 raised in 4 years for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation and The Ottawa Hospital Foundation, Lyne continues the fight on behalf of cancer patients with the hope of putting an end to cancer.

What a pleasure to be part of such an incredible event. I am so proud to have been taken part of THE RIDE for 4 years now, and I wholeheartedly thank everyone who supported my fundraising efforts. It is heart-warming and inspiring to come together with our communities for a common purpose.

-Lyne

We could not be more proud to have Lyne and Paul in our franchise family. Lyne’s dedication to her local Ottawa community and to our Core Values are a great example of why we truly are the Movers Who Care®. So thank you, Lyne. And High Five!
