We know that our movers, drivers and customer service representatives are what makes us stand out from the crowd when it comes to moving companies. It’s our employees who truly make us the “Movers Who Care®.” That’s why, every week, we choose one special employee to highlight.
This week we’re doing something a little different. We’re giving a High Five to our two original “Stick Men”, Brig and Jon Sorber.
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® started in the early 1980s as a way for two brothers to make extra money while in high school. Brothers Jon and Brig Sorber started moving people using an old pickup truck while their mom, Mary Ellen Sheets, sketched out a stick figure logo to advertise in a weekly newspaper. This same stick-men logo with the two men in a truck is used today on every truck, sign and advertisement.
We’ve come a long way since those two high school students in a pick-up truck! Brig is now Chief Executive Officer and Jon is Executive Vice-President of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® International. If it hadn’t been for the hard work of those two “stick men”, none of us would be here right now.
Brig and Jon are working harder than ever to keep TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® the best moving company in North America. They’ve come across the border this week to help celebrate the grand openings of two of our new franchises, in Niagara-St.Catharines and Mississauga.
It’s been very inspirational to have the founders of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® here to share not only our company’s history but the vision that will carry us far into the future.
Way to go Brig and Jon! We hope you’ve enjoyed your time here in Canada. We’ll make you a poutine for the ride home.
