With the on-going pandemic that is now affecting most of the world most office’s are now operating remotely. For some of us this as an easy transition to working from home, but what if you don’t have a home office already setup? Or if you have smaller place like an apartment, and need to make one for the time being?
This can be tricky depending on your situation, but to help you out we’re sharing some of our favorite organizational tips for organizing your home office.
Get Rid of any Clutter
Have you ever heard the phrase, “Tidy office, tidy mind,”? It actually tends to be true. As you set out to tackle projects, deadlines and items on your to-do list in your home office, a clean, polished work space can only improve your productivity. Getting rid of the clutter can alleviate anxious feelings, too, so you can focus on your work instead of cleaning.
Plan Ahead
Many of us have calendars on our computers, but there is something to be said for having a physical calendar. It help’s you visualize, track your schedule and to plan ahead.
Utilize Wall Space
This is often the one step people miss when organizing their office. Use your wall space to hang filing systems, calendars, whiteboards, shelving and more. There is so much more space available when you go vertical.
Categorize
Organize your office into categories, placing like items together. By doing this, your office will become more functional. Take for example these desk organizers, they keep sticky notes, business cards, and flash drives in their own compartments to easily grab and go.
