By law, a moving company can’t transport hazardous materials such as gasoline, bottled gases and other flammables, ammunition and explosives. Sometimes, this includes a lot of items you might not have thought about.
- Cans of paint
- Household cleaning solutions – bleach, furniture polish, floor wax, oven cleaner, drain cleaner, etc.
- Bottles of anti-freeze
- Propane tanks
- Cans of hairspray
- Gas-powered tools with full gas tanks – lawn mowers, snow blowers, etc.
Double check the labels on all these common household items and ask your movers which items they are legally allowed to transport.
