Everyone here at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK is committed to giving back to our community. That’s why we’ve partnered with a variety of non profits and charitable organizations throughout our long 30-year history.
One partnership is particularly close to our hearts: Our Mikey on Board program, which places Mikey Network defibrillators in each of our moving trucks, and trains our movers in their use. In this way, we’re ready to help give someone a second chance at life should the need arise.
We’re not the only ones who think this is a great initiative. We received this lovely comment about our Mikey On Board program from a family doctor in Toronto:
I am a family physician in Toronto and was looking at the Mikey (defibrillator) website for something and saw that your company has defibrillators in the trucks and the drivers were trained in how to use them.
I HAD to write to tell you that is AWESOME !!!!!!!!!
Doctors use an expression, “time is muscle”, meaning the longer a person is “out”, the more heart muscle dies, so seconds / minutes count. Even if one of your defibrillators is used only once, if it saves a parent from severe disability (prolonged irregular heart beats or heart attacks can cause enough heat muscle damage to result in a person become short of breath just doing up shirt buttons….for the rest of their life), the ripple effect is HUGE. If helped early enough, the person can return to work in a short while, and that can mean they don’t lose their house. The two daughters of the patient WILL have their dad at their wedding, and hold their first born children. And so on….
Thank you for joining the team of medical providers – it is an incredible public service – that may even save one of your own employees one day.
Kudos to you all !!!!!! 🙂
