Packing electronics can be tricky during a move. Computers hold some of your most valuable documents and information – not to mention all your games! We want to make sure your computer arrives at your new home in the exact same condition it left. Here are a few tips you should know when packing a computer for a move.
Back up your hard drive, especially important files.
Turn it off. Sounds simple, but you want to double check that it’s not just in sleep mode.
Unplug all the cords and tie them together. You don’t want to leave any cords behind!
Use the original packing, if you have it.
Use a separate box for your monitor.
Use the right size box. Too big and the computer might be jostled around during the move.
Use pink anti-static bubble wrap to carefully pad your computer in the moving box. Make sure the computer is snug in there!
